I have a 72 custom with stock setup, automatic, 350 with AC. Can anyone suggest a radiator for the car, source for one at a good price. I am not looking for a top end unit. Just something that will do the job.
As some know I have cooling issues and prob in the end will have to replace the radiator as part of the solution.
I am also trying to source all the radiator cooling hoses. I found them all from GATES. I do not see any thing for the heater core hoses. Can GM hoses be had for this car?

Heater hoses can be got at local parts store. 5/8 and 3/4 sizes. You buy by the foot. Thats why your not finding an exact replacement.

Year one has them in 5 foot sections with the same ridge on them as GM.

I just swapped out my leaking original style brass radiator for a "new style" aluminum radiator with plastic tanks. I was a little nervous that it wouldn't cool as well as the original since it is so lightweight, but it actually seems to cool better. I like the looks of it compared to the flashy polished aluminum ones.

You should be able to get one of these (either locally or shipped) for less than $100. I bought mine from Advance Auto, and it came out to a little over $80 with all the coupon codes/discounts. They are also available on RockAuto for similar money. My "CarQuest" brand radiator actually said Spectra Premium inside the box.

You can kind of see it in the attached pics. For what it's worth, my car was originally an A/C car but I removed it.

Here are all the specs on Summit: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sgt-cu161

As far as I can tell it has one big core. I wouldn't get too hung up on chasing the highest number of cores; there's more to it like core size, number of fins per inch, etc.

so that spectra will do the job it appears, for an AC car.

Yes, it is listed as compatible with AC / HD cooling, and even 455 cars. It should be more than capable of cooling your car, assuming there are no other issues.
