UPDATE!!!!! The older gentleman that owns the car originally told me $1,000 for the car however his son in law who lives 800 miles away was interested in purchasing the car. He asked me to call him back in 2 weeks after he spoke with his son in law. Naturally I have called him back to discuss the car. He now says his son in law is still interested in the car however he will sell me the car for $2,100 for the car. He says he looked in a "book" and that's what "the book" said the car was worth. I then asked him if the book considered the fact that the car does not run (bad fuel pump he says), the roof is TOTALLY rusted and this "may" turn into a parts car? I also said "what happened to the $1,000 you originally quoted"? He kind of mumbled and then said he would take $1,900. I told him I was originally thinking significantly less than $900, not $1,900! The car is obviously not going anywhere anytime soon. I'll try again in a couple weeks and see if his pricing changes as drastically this time as it did the last time.
Sounds all too familiar. He thinks he has something everyone wants so the price went up. It's hard to do, but just pretend like you never saw it and go on. There will be another. There always are others. Nothing like a Rivira! Ain't that right Erik??
HEY poooods just because Eric expects the correct spelling of riveria  , ain't no reason to pick on him.
Normally I let bad spelling and grammer slide,we're all guilty of the teh and hte and some words I just cant spell, but the spelling in that was horrible. Not a good first post.
Cen is right, and this time not only because he is Cen !!!! :TU: My car was even called a Buick Rivella (soft drink from Switzerland....... ou: )
Erik can't let it slide. He starts itching, his eyes burning and then he shakes all over. I've even heard that he gets the hives if he doesn't call attention to it. Oh, and when someone doesn't use the search function properly, heck, I will not even go there! Erik, Once you made the little hair stand up on the back of my neck. But, now you put a smile on my face almost evertime I read one of your posts. :beer
Be honest now: it was hard to type that name wrong on purpose :Smarty: Nothing beats a good old PM to make things better, John  :beer :TU:
Are those chrome valve covers? Was there a dress-up kit for the 455 that included chrome valve covers or was it still part of the Stage 1 package? http://www.v8buick.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=43471
Just dusty old standard valve covers as found on the Stage I or plain Rivieras. Check eBay for chrome 455 Buick valve covers, they're out there..... :Smarty:
Sorry, I have never seen dust shine like that, I think they are chrome I am not looking to buy a pair, I was just pointing them out o No: I wanted to know if they are standard on a '74 Riv GS... :beer
