Bruno, that works. My guy is interested in the 1200 option. What carrier, brand of gear, and stock axles?

Any chance you would consider shipping to the workplace? Malvern, Ohio

Hey Bruno, what's the story on the GN super duty rear? I'm not familiar with that. I have a g-body but it has the 7.5 ring gear. Any pics? Are you willing to ship?

7.5 is a time bomb. Good choice looking to upgrade. Nice little payday Bruno, hopefully shipping is possible.

waterboxguy, the GN rear is 8.5 like the 71-72 and up .The only difference,it does not have bolt in axles, its like Chevy ,it has a c-clip.By the way,I'll most likely send pictures of the 71 rear now.For the GN,it will be another time.Bruno.

    Bruno,

Just to be clear...the one pictured is the 1200 rear? And that one is from a 71? Any idea if that is a direct swap to a gbody??

That is from a 71.I don't know about swapping one of these rears into a La Sabre,or something like that.I would think its a little too short for that purpose.Maybe someone here knows more about that then I,as I never had to do that. If its for a Regal or GN,they would fit right in,you might have to adapt the part that goes into the wheel cylinder ,they do have those ,very common. Also changing or even taking the wheel cylinder from the original rear will work.Or buy the GN rear, nothing wrong with that,it does have the gears.Bruno.

I thought A body an G body rears have different mounting brackets on the housings

About twenty years ago, a friend of mine was able to swap a rear from an earlier "A" body (64-72 not sure exact)
[EDIT: I'm sure it was 71/72; it was 8 &1/2 rear] into his 86 Regal. It was one cluster after another: The upper arm mounts are at a different angle and/or distance apart. with required custom upper arms. Not for sure but THINK that the lowers had no installation issues. Then the issue of thread size and style: Older rears are SAE thread; Newer G body rears used Metric... And the the issue with overall width required different offset wheels.
Long story short: "A" body rears are a pain to swap into a "G" body...
