With all that paperwork he must have the build sheet that has those rocker moldings on it or maybe he believes they came standard on GS cars and they fell off every other GS before delivery.
Whoa... better not ask any more questions. ou: With that response/attitude I'm surprised this dealer sells anything. Check the feedback. I know you can't please everyone but some of the recent sales look like there is a lot to be desired. This guy gets defensive when asked questions from people? You could be a potential buyer! I would have to think twice after reading the reply above (assuming I was interested and had the money) about whether this seller is really honest.
It would be worth going to jail, just to drive to the dealership and feed this guy a knuckle sandwich. What an ego maniac. Ultra rare 67 Chevelle ss rocker moldings, Pa-leeeze. there's only one person who has been smelling dog butt. and that is the seller. And for the record, my screen name is my real name. I don't hide from anyone!
The guy appears to be a dick. And you're right, anyone could be a potential buyer. There are a few people out there with $99k. Why in world would he risk pissing any of them off? I think it's because he is arrogant, stupid and not a Buick guy. One of my best friends is a car salesman. Most car salesmen could care less about the car. They normally care about the sale only. That's it. So I say, let these guys continue to list it. Perhaps we'll see it at Barrett Jackson in January but I doubt it. I can't remember seeing a '67 GS at BJ for quite some time. If they did, it was not on TV when I was watching. If they get $99k that means the rest of us with '67 GS 400's win. If they don't, we can laugh at them.
There was a episode of What My Car Worth a while back that had a late 60's Riviera with ultra low miles on it, the car was a less shiny Gold color but was in every was just as original and had every option you could get. It was very nice, the owner expected $37000 and the experts thought it was a little soft at $30000. The final price on the car was $17000, some one got a incredible buy but you never know what its going to bring, I know this guy was disappointed
That guy's a goof! No one here has ever seen those rockers on any 67 GS, but he knows the car??? I'm gonna slap some Chevelle rocker trim on my car and make a fortune on ebay now. I hope another survivor comes out soon with lower miles!
Mr. Salesman doesn't realize that the guys who probably judged the car for its national award are prolly on this site ... Asshat
Here is another vintage photo that shows a completely black trunk trim on a '67 GS 400. This is a photo that is in the original road test of a GS 400 in Hi-Performance Cars magazine from 1967.
I spent a long time going over this black GS-400 when it was at the GS Nats in 2008. I spoke to the owner and he let me crawl all over the car, get inside, remove the air cleaner, etc, in my efforts to photograph anything that I thought was noteworthy that might help with a restoration of a '67 GS400. I probably took a couple hundred photos of the car. This car has had some obvious touch up work done with a spray can (engine repainted, a lot of chassis stuff resprayed black, etc) but the rest of the car appeared to really be original. The owner told me that nothing had been repainted but I could even see some red overspray from where the engine had been painted. The black paint on the body is nice but the ebay photos make it look slicker than it is in person. It's a cool car for sure and probably is the lowest mileage '67 GS in existence. It's the most correct '67 GS I've ever seen and it serves as a great reference car.
The reply you relieved sounds like it came from a "get ready" guy in the back of the showroom not an "honest" to goodness salesman IMHO. And they have closed down the Store in Mentor,Ohio and the bldg is for rent. Jus sayin
Yeah, that "salesman" is a real piece of work. Like has already been noted, it is obvious he does not have a clue what he is talking about or what he is selling. On top of that, for someone who is trying to come off as highly sophisticated and all mighty, his spelling and grammer sucks. I'm from Texas and even I noticed how poorly he types, which means he probably speaks even worse. LOL!
Actually it wasn't a salesman, It was Joseph Caroll the President & C.E.O according to the Ebay stores email. I sent my number asking to discuss the rockers, as I didnt want to hide behind a screen name, but I haven't heard back. I guess it could have just been someone returning the message with that account.
The other thing thats different on this car than mine is the headliner,my headliner and sun visors and seat belts were pearl yellow and not black as his are.correction my seat belts were black i think.
With his negative comments about the Buick community he has just alienated 95% of his potential customers. The 5% left that might be interested are probably investors and won't pay that insane price for a Buick as they are still reeling from the downturn of their Hemi cars! He'll probably be paying the bank note plus interest for the next year with that asking price. Very few dealers have the capital on hand to lay out for each car they have in stock so they use a bank. Watch the price come down as Mr. Smart Azz is stuck trying to sell that car for $99,000. See how fast the 1970 red prototype Stage1 GS (1 of 1) @ $149,900 is flying off the dealers floor. o No:
I guess we'll never know now. I went to check on the current bidding and the car is no longer available. Did someone buy it or did they pull the listing because it wasn't generating enough moola? o No:
I went to their website-( http://www.rkmotorscharlotte.com/sales/inventory/active#!/?utf8=✓&page=3 )and it's listed as sale pending? I love that car and for obvious reasons I wish it was actually worth that kind of money but a fool and his money are soon parted and if they got any where near the $99 thousand asking price, I think they found that fool.
