For those who are interested in EFI and run a N/A engine Check.out the new Max efi 500 produced and sold by SUMMIT RACING! Pretty impressive and since summit is a multi million $ company im sure the support is much better than with a small company like fitech. Further i think summit adressed the issues that fitech and co. Had in the past since summit sold and dealt with the products warranty and support. Good odds http://www.onallcylinders.com/2017/...i-500-electronic-fuel-injection-system-video/ 849 Usd is indeed not a bad deal for a unit that supports up to 500 hp.
If you watch the video the summit unit has a big bulky computer, whereas IIRC the computer is built into the FiTech unit with both having a hand held controller.
I did notice that but could not get what sailbrd was meaning? I feel like this may be a good upgrade for the 401.
The linkage looks the same, but truthfully that's about it. If that's a fitech, it's one they never released under their own banner and it has some fundamental design differences from all of their other products. I really don't think it is. Just my $0.02.
Think they may just be using the controller then? I mean, the body isn't the same, fuel rail configuration totally different, external ecu vs integrated, seems like there alot more different than alike. Aside from the linkage and apparently the controller, what else would make them the same? (Honest question, not being argumentative)
Summit doesn't actually manufacture any of their branded stuff. I've gotten fuel pressure regulators from them with "Holley" cast into them, and some stuff I've gotten still had "Trick Flow". Their Turbo Mufflers were rebranded "H.O.T"s, and they're carbs are an old Holley 4010/4011, which is a knockoff of an old Autolite from Fords from the 60s. Still good stuff, I've never had an issue with Summit's house brand.
I bought a fairly sizable summit brand jet kit to tune my carb because it was a couple bucks cheaper than the Holley brand kit. Came in a nice plastic case with dividers for all the different sizes. They had simply stuck a Summit Racing sticker on top of the Holley sticker on the lid. I didnt mind, saved a few bucks and got top quality parts!
