Adhesive to glue jute to steel?

    My car's heater box has a steel flapper door that diverts the airflow between the lower interior level and the defroster vents. Originally it had some sort of foam on the one side to seal against the defroster vents when they were closed off- long gone now.

    I cut a piece of fabric/cotton jute to replace the deteriorated foam. In that the heater box obviously sees elevated temps, any recommendations as to what adhesive to use here? Was thinking of using silicone...

    I’d use 3M 1300L. Coat both surfaces, let dry, then use pressure to mate the parts. I’ve been doing this on aircraft for years and have yet to see it fail.
