Aftermarket Tach.

I'm wiring up dash tach. Green wire to neg. coil. Red wire ti (ign) on fuse block. Do I need white wire to stinger under cap? Confused! Help me out? (White wire)?

 

I see illumination wire. But I need No wire to go under cap to stinger?? Just neg. coil.

On my '71 original tach the case is ground and must be connected by a ground strap to the gauge next to it. There is no ground wire as such.
