    GS Kubisch THE "CUT-UP" BUICK

The last year is filled with answers of ''very close" so that means nothing anymore.......About 4-5 weeks ago the "goal" was to fill all orders by December.......Now,Through the "grapevine" I "hear" January.
No solid confirmation on anything other than my Optimism has run dry and to be blunt.......I'm pissed and don't even know if the idea to keep my car "ALL BUICK" even interests me anymore..........

We've waited/Been held hostage for the past months/years because we were desperate to keep our "Buick Pride" and for the sake of desperation trusted someone who really could not produce in a timely fashion.
And all the while no one is making anything new for Buick as far as race parts......The Pontiacs have Blocks/Heads/Cranks for any performance level,The Chrysler guys are playing with turbo's,An Olds powered car won the season championship in one of the more competitive heads up fields,Small block Fords and Chevy's can make power naturally aspirated the exceeds what you can do with a 500CI Buick,AMC guys even have a Block available.

All this with my car looking like a POS project collecting dust in the corner of the garage while I cut the friggin' grass all summer!!!!!!! :af:

I'm truly having a hard time keeping interest in my BUICK right now,I fear that a new block tomorrow may be too little, too late.Let alone waiting another 4-6 weeks!!!!!
Try getting parts or a motor built after the first of the year.......Depressing to say.......More waiting.......
Most guys who need a new crank,Will wait a year.Guys who have a crank,Are then a t the mercy of the machine shops that will try to fit the crank to the block.

OH YEAH..................Merry Christmas..............I should start drinking :blast:

Gary, you can always come over to my house and give me a hand with my Regal project. I'm hoping to get the engine out of the convertible some time in January and "freshen" the engine up with a new cam, have Vince Janis make me up my th400 then too. Then it's just bolt it all in and, hopefully, go.

Does Trovato still use the olds 350 diesel block or do the olds guys have an aftermarket block too?...hate to hear you are thinking of switching. I really do hope the block gets done so you and others dont have to...Merry Christmas...fish

Bills running a Old nascar DX block which is similar to the diesel block missing the injection pump junk.I think it's a 403cid deal.

I agree 100% Gary! I recently found out my old block is busted, so now I'm in the same boat as you (except I do have a crank). If I dump a bunch of money into machining another stock block, it'll set my Bulldog Block engine back by months, even if it comes in this winter. Once I do a block, I'll be stuck for the cash to build the new one. Can't decide which way to go right now. Dammit! :af:

Gary, like I said on an other thread, mid January and I'm pulling out with my money back. I would like to comment more, but the boards are not the place. At age 47 if the block appears in '06 with waiting for other parts (money not a factor) most likely I'll be pushing my 50's, geez maybe when I'm 65 when I'll see a complete engine. Instead I'll figure I will just stay with what I have running the times I am running. I will just have to learn to stay within my boundaries. Sucks, yes it does. Maybe I'll divert my funds on having a block made up like Rod's 4-bolt main block by TA. Yeah another band aid, but it beats bleeding to death waiting.

And that's all I have to say about that.

I'm broke for now, so I can wait! :ball:

It does seem like the extra bolts in the girdle are helping, maybe I need to get mine modified before it breaks?

    Hey Paul,

Are you making any changes to your "JUNK" this year??? Sorry I just couldn't resist.

We have good cylinder heads and the Olds guys have good blocks. :Dou: What is the estimated HP that the Hunts twin turbo Olds is making??

We should find out this weekend how the 4-bolt main held up. So far so good nothing has been found wrong. Rod should have it all tore apart by the end of the weekend. We are then going to have it tested to make sure there are not hair line crack missed. I'm not sure what Mike's price is to do this to your block. After getting the results from Rod it's something to look into.
A buddy of ours has a Blown Olds and he uses the diesel block. He's turning 7.90's with no problems. The diesel blocks are become hard to come by so he is running into that problem. Other than that he is putting over 30lbs of boost to his motor and not having any problems.

If possible please let me know. There is no way I will be building an engine that pumps out that much HP. All I'm looking for is 850 max no supercharger or juice, so if that block holds up for you guys then it may be a viable option for me. As far as cost I won't ask, but I feel sure it's less than the cost of an aluminum Bulldog block, if I ever see one. I already dropped some feelers to Mike.

I may go that route to start on a new engine for next year (ready in '07). I don't need an engine right now as mine is running fine and for now would gladly step aside for those who are in need, but a nice ready made short block would be nice to have.
