Don't even think twice bout the Offenhauser 360.
I had one on my high school ride and put it on my Skylark.
I went 13.09 at 102.52 with fuel delivery issues.
Upgraded fuel system, will be in the 12s, with a mild build, mild cam.
Are there better intakes, yup, but
for what you're doing , it will work well.
Like you mentioned, lighter than stock.
    Have fun with it......JIM

I'm interested in how a chrome wrapped fiberglass front bumper would look and of course , cost.
Pictures, please , ifya go that route?
    Thanks Jim

To wrap it in one piece is quite expensive, but I was told I could do it with seams and that would be less. I have seen smaller bumpers wrapped, like first gen Camaro's and Mustang's and they look very good, honestly like real chrome. Buick bumpers are huge though and I'm not sure how it would look with seams. I have never seen a bumper with SpectraChrome in person, watched a bunch of videos online, but nothing for real. The videos "look" great, but I want to see one. Have you seen them in person? Does it look like real chrome? It's pretty pricey as well.
    Thanks

Some friends of mine restored a 1960 Imperial Crown convertible. The door sills were in horrible shape, and the only person who had a semi-attractive set wanted more for the two of the sills than I paid for my whole 2019 TourX. So, they meticulously took out each dent and warp, straightened them, and had them SpectraChromed. The result was astounding; I’ve never seen anything so “chrome” that didn’t come out of a tank. Later, the people who did the work came by to look at the car. They drove a gen 3 Camaro they’d treated. It was all kinds of colors (sort of their “demo” car), but there was no denying its cool factor. The one thing I’ve heard since this thread began (I started asking around) is that cheaper applications tend to yellow over time. If you go that route, be sure and ask to see long term, outdoor applications.

Figured I'd give a brief update, been driving it for a year now and it is amazing. Handles great, launches are unreal, and it's reasonably quick. I enjoy it. Things I wish I'd done differently, the motor mounts. They are very rigid polyurethane and they vibrate, not terrible, but enough to annoy you. I should have clocked the transfer case higher up and modified the floor more. The ground clearance is very poor, that t-case is very close too the ground. There's always things that could be better, but overall it's good. I took all the trim, interior, and windows out, then took it in for paint and body work on Monday. I tested the color on a couple of spots and really like it, 1967 GM code T, Cameo Ivory. I'll post when it's done and all put back together.

Hoping to see the finished product. How long until it's out of paint?

I really don't know, the guy painting it does it as a side gig. Hopefully this coming spring. He has most of the rust removal/metal work done and was getting ready for the first coats of primer last week. As soon as it's out of paint jail I'll post some pics.
    Thanks

I got the car back from paint in May and had it put together by the end of June. I am pretty happy with how it turned out and thought I'd share some pictures.

Wait, how did you get it to be AWD without a transverse mounting? This build is mind blowing. Absolutely beautiful.
