for a stock buick 350 on a 72 skylark, what would be the significant difference overal from the stock engine, numbers wise what would you be looking at for both the intake and head readings, is the x factor intake better than the t/a stage 1 intake, if there is a huge load of difference then count me inn for at least the intake for sure, and the heads as soon as they come out...thanks

    Justa350 I'm BACK!

The X-Factor is a dedicated race piece, and performs as such. It does most of its damage above 3000 rpm, which may or may not be your desired range. It added well over 1000rpm to the powerband of the tested engine, and still did not show a peak power rpm.

The X-Factor has been removed from the market temporarily. I will be posting of its glorious return soon though.

I understand a single plane 300 Willpower intake is in the works. Some contact info:

    "Maxwedge performance
    10 Jaffa Rd
    Dural, New South Wales 2158
    Australia
    Phone : ‎011 61 2 96513550

ask for Bill Laney... Remember they are 17 hours ahead of you.. so if you call from LA at 7pm it will be noon the next day where he is at..... you will need to do an International wire transfer from your bank into his...."

    A direct quote from Bill,

"P76 manifold valley width is 8

    Buick valley is 7

    Rover V8 valley is 7

I can make the Rover manifold wider by casting extra metal on manifold flange to suit Buick 300.

This means there will be no spacer plate required.

Valley plate will be cast and added to seal valley to block.

It will be purpose built to suit Buick 300 motor."

It shouldn't take much for him to do a 340 intake once he's done that. Some of you guys might want to contact him and ask what the cost would be.

Of course, my question is, is he going to increase the size of the ports. His current manifolds are cast with Rover V8\Buick 215 size ports. Is he going to upgun to the bigger cast iron 300 size?

Why does nobody want to buy my ported heads and Single Plane intake? The deal I'm offering is alot better than any aluminum head or intake. I guess nobody really wanted nice heads or intakes.

Hang in there Cason, awful time for selling parts.

Everybody's broke because of the holidays and starting to get scared about 4/15/10.

They've all been told how easy it would be to spend a couple hundred more than the heads and get into one of Mark's single turbo kits.

His rocker conversion seems to be gaining a following as well. I don't know how much the machining costs, but that option almost has to be competitive with your rollers pricewise.

I will say though, I'm surprised that the X-factor hasn't sold.

I do agree with Devon to a certain extent. I don't think most people are scared of tax time, but I do think you'll have more interest once the tax rebates start to roll in.

I'm sorry what company is making the heads and intake?

    David G de-modded....

No is currently making heads. TA Performance is the most likely vendor that they might come from eventually.

Burton Machine has fabbed up only a few custom intakes, on the pricey side, but available. Not production work, made to order custom pieces.

These are a pipe dream and likely never to materialize. If it were really on the TA radar screen, we would have an approximate cost and a minimum set of heads to order. I'm just making up numbers here, but say TA needs us to order 50 sets of heads. They must be convinced they could only sell 20 or less in the 1st yr, no where near what they need...

It is not their fault they don't have the $50,000 (or so) to tie up in an investment for which the return will take 10 yrs or more to BRAKE EVEN. :dollar:

TA would love to make these things, but staying in business is more important.:(

if there was such a plot on setup cost and amount of 350 guys to break even to commit into production i'd lay down a downpayment to make it happen...but i know this wont happen due to the bulldog AL 455block situation..

All I know is my Burton intake and ported iron heads are not going to limit how fast my car runs. Traction is what I lay awake thinking about.....
