Some time ago I converted many of my exterior lights to LED -- decided to convert the dash as I had a few bulbs out. I can not seem to spot a lamp in this area of the dash (where the light switch/ wipers, etc) ... It's very hard to see up there but I don't see any lamps or even a hole where a bulb should go? I'm tired of whacking my head on the parking brake... ;-) Pic is from my 68 Wildcat.
No illumination bulb in the area of the headlight switch or washer/wiper controls. (the link is the image below but larger, so you can see the details better.) http://www.wootmonkey.com/_data/i/upload/2019/02/24/20190224092626-c72c0f84-me.jpg
Well in addition to my favorite nickname/avatar @TrunkMonkey you have solved my problem. I had not noticed this diagram before in the manual. After studying it I noticed a reference to a SEELITE and a bulky connector alongside the main harness. I had noticed that odd connector yesterday and thought -- what is that thing??? I now realize it is the 1960s version of fiber optics -- some plastic light tubes illuminated by an 1816 bulb. That's what lights this area. Mystery solved -- thanks!
