Ran across this picture online. Does anybody know this car, builder or history? How about just off looking at the picture, what do you think got done suspension wise?
I noticed that chute too. I've diven a strait axle hot rod, it was fast because the weight. The handling was ok but bumps are felt harder, what does a gasser handle like?
Nothing to add other than this pic I found on the web awhile back. Hope it helps. Stumbled onto it on the HAMB board one day.
Interesting it's got the flat hood, be cool to see what they done to the 430 to need a chute, without a tunnel ram or something
Steering wheel looks high and driver's seat may be moved back some, indicating the engine relocated ???????? Bill
Oh yea definitely altered/early funny car style, but still would think it have the scoop at the base of the windshield, interesting for sure
Hey it's an option. But I don't think so unless somebody can convince me otherwise that it will make a great handling car.. I look at this car alot And hope it ends up like this. But who knows.
I got some info from someone he saidHere's what I found. It was an A/FX based on a 1965 Skylark coupe built by Dick’s Speed Center of Yreka, California. The rear axle and wheel openings moved forward a foot. The front fenders were unmodified but the stock coil-spring independent front suspension was replaced by a straight axle and leaf springs and pushed forward several inches and lifted 6". Your photo must be an older photo because it was mentioned it had a Hilborn-injected Nailhead with ram tubes sticking out of a Ford Thunderbolt hood blister. "
