I have a 69 Special Deluxe that I'm trying to keep as original as possible while adding some fun things to it. I'm keeping the original Chevy 250 (but turboing it), I'm keeping the bench seat, I want to keep the rubber flooring (but I might have to switch to carpet because I can't find anywhere the reproduces it), and I've been contemplating keeping the original color but I can't decide to keep it "Trumpet Gold Poly" (which is pretty much just gold) if I don't know what it looks like when it's a good shiny paint job because painting a car gold is a gamble... It's either going to look GREAT or look like a grandpa car. Does anyone have any pictures of a well done gold paint job on a 68 or 69 buick (preferably special/skylark/gs)?

oh yah, I'm not why I didn't say 70-72 also. They look similar enough. But that actually looks really good on it. Mine is a bit brighter so I'm not sure how much better/worse it'll look though I think I actually will paint it back trumpet gold poly

I personally think this is the best looking 68-69.
Recent findings are that this is a Pontiac GTO color.

oh wow thanks guys. I haven't checked this thread in awhile.

I think it looks great when it's well done so I'm defiantly going to repaint it Trumpet Gold Poly.

So what do you guys actually think of this color?

Did any '69 Sportwagons come in Trumpet Gold Poly with woodgrain? I really want to add woodgrain to my wagon since it looks naked without it. I am not sure how it would look with gold paint? I was thinking of repainting to a light yellow/ cream color. Wayne
