Nice car Don. I like your firewall - how did you do it?? Any problems rehanging the dash??

Nice lightening work. The hole-saw approach looks pretty good on the rad support!

    Sounds good Tim,
I have done a few laps around the block. As for the burnouts,my neighbors have been begging me to do some for them but I am holding out.
lilbowtie,I glued a thick sheet of aluminum to the firewall where the AC was located(for clean lines). The dash was zip tied to the lower center suport of the cage. The stock screws were used at the top of the dash.I gutted out the back of dash except the wires to the Ignition. My goal was to save as much weight as possible :puzzled:

Looks very nice Don! Car looks totally different since the last time that I saw it!:TU: :TU:
I have a couple of questions if you don't mind answering them?
What brand of cowl hood is that on your car? How tall is the cowl and did you make the air box that is attached to the bottom of it or was it on there when you bought the hood?
What pistons did you use in your motor and are you using a block girdle on it?
I just bought a set of Stage 1 TE for my Cutlass and am gonna build a second motor for my car. I am still trying to figure out what pistons I am going to use. I don't want to stop using pump gas.
Talk to you later and hope to see you at the track this year.:3gears:

Thanks V8 Buick for the screamin board. I now have thumbnail pics.
Tony, I got the hood via a friend since it was too big to see over for the street. The hood is a 5 inch bolt on VFN and the air box is from a local circle track performance shop. The motor isn't girdled and the pistons I recommend are J&E flat top.38 racing piston from TA performance.:Dou:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------Randy- Yeah, that's the same car, but I have been involved in too many projects at the same time. I think I am now ready for the GS Nats for 2007.:blast:

Good...I am waiting on cooler weather so when I get it to the track it will run 9.99 with a worn out trans. If that doesn't work I'll slip in that Janis built
TH 400 W trans. break .I am happy with the way the car hooks, steers straight. The engine feels strong.I added muflers after seeing bigdawg70's car run and I like the change ( 3-1/2" X to 3" muflers). We'll see how it all plays out.

Hey Don, I think I saw you running around shirtless at NTR in Columbus at BPGs but I couldn't catch up with ya. I was sitting in the staging lanes for the car show parade.

Well this was the first one I got to take my car to and it's only about 35 minutes from my house so I was happy. I really didn't get to hang out much with anybody though (besides my daughter).

My only real negative thought is I only got to make two test and tune runs but I didn't have any time to "tune" between runs. I was hoping there would be more open test and tuning.

I've got some early early shots of your car tricolored in 35mm prints. Too bad I don't have a scanner, she's a real brute now! So its true you've really been babying her all this time????
