Has anyone eliminated their A/C Muffler? Did you notice any extra noise or loss of cooling performance?

How can you eliminate it ? Does anyone sell a custom hose for that ?

Not that I know of. Pretty much a custom on your own sort of thing.

A lot of cars (like Chebys) don't have it. I noticed that the donor car I bought has one. I'll have to see if I keep it. It is between the battery and the fender, which is not a friendly place for a chunk of aluminum. that may be why the system is dry- it may have leaked.

I deleted mine, can't tell a bit if difference.

If your compressor died and spread trash through the system, your better off losing the muffler since it's near possible to flush it clean.

So would the hose for a chevelle work. Why did Buicks have it ?

How did you delete it? I'm setting up a new system. I have a new aftermarket condenser/drier. I had my evaporator reconditioned and I plan on using the aluminum compressor from the parts place.

I deleted it by replacing the entire hose with a new one, made for the r134a

Where did you get it ? Or did you have it custom made ?

I had new hoses made at a local a/c shop that does it. Just took them my old hoses and had them make up new ones with same length and new ends. I forget the cost, but it wasn't that expensive.
