    Who do you mean ?

    Dale or me ?

I don't know what Dale means by that, but at this photo your engine looks like a Buick, and not a Chevrolet 454:

Darn if someone did not transplant the distrib from the back to the front on that Chev. engine.

    Okay Joshua,

But there was no 454 Buick engine, so you better change that in your text mate.
You had me thinking that you swapped the old 430 for a Chebby mill :ball:

ok now you have me thinking
I will have to go back and read all sheets on the motor and find out what happened
the guy who but the motor in had it in his 69 buick skylark we had it rebuilt(so I was told anyway ) and then put into are car
thanks for telling this to me

I think Dale tried to upload a photo of his 1970 Riviera, but all I saw was 1970....maybe something went wrong there and that's the reason why his post is now deleted by him.

About your engine: it looks like a big block to me, looking at posistion of the bolt in the valve cover, but where is your oil filler cap ?

And I'm sure that donor Skylark didn't came original with a 430 or 455, so maybe this is a 400 engine ?

all man that bites I will have to find out as soon as I can right now the car is about 80 kms away from me so I can not get to it right now if I look at the motor is there anything that will tell me for 100% what it is

    Sorry about the confusion guys.
I first posted without uploading my photo, Then went back and uploaded the photo, but it was too big for the board.
So, I quickly deleted my post.
    I'll try later from home.

The filler cap is in the center of the valve cover...looks to be a 75 or 76 vintage valve cover.

I'm sorry mate, I forgot about the Olds, Buick, Plymouth and Lincoln 454 engines, for a moment I thought that the only well known factory 454 was built by Chevrolet........ :Dou:

That's what I like about this board: you learn something new every day !!

Keep up the good work :TU:
