Wow this is a great site. You guys have it covered. One of the best cars I ever owned was a supercharged Park Avenue. Refused to drive a mini van. Kid's car seats were squeezed in the back seat like an accordion. Best car ever.

We are looking for an Apollo 5000 GT manual drive coupe in driver condition or better should anyone hear of one. Looking for a sporty car overall with an American engine.

    Thanks.

I did not post the links as sales leads. I posted those links because the background information contained in those links may be informative.

Here is one a client just sold in England - just one month before this client contacted me to find one.

I have to admit until he brought the car to my attention I did not know they existed either. I love the Buick engine in the Italian designed (Scaglione) body. Who by the way was the same guy that designed the Arnolt-Bristol body.

Mark, I see you are from Kansas City. This car just left your wonderful town and arrived in England just a few days ago. It is an AC Bristol with the original Bristol engine. Although the second picture is of another car I just sold, also in KC. This one had a Ford engine. image1.JPG

theres some high end exotics hiding all over Kansas City..ive seen some rare stuff..very hard to find, because no one talks about them...

i know of a couple gull wing mercedes..and theres a huge closet Ferrari crowd...theres a few real cobras hiding around town too.

in our area, its so conservative, that people seem to be "ashamed" or weary about talking about high end stuff...until you get them around their buddies, then they are just car guys

we have a lot of orphan cars, and a whole crowd of weird Asian cars too..really exotic Asian stuff from the 60s and 70s..

    huge mg crowd too...

i know of a factory Porsche racer campaigned/sponsered by Porsche its a tube chassis 911 based car(their story) from California orig......sitting next to some 70s ferrari's..its crazy...poor thing is beat up..but you can see what it is thru all the dirt grime and rusty beat up sheet metal...they have traced the chassis number back to Porsche, but have never done anything with the car,,its an "im gonna restore it some day" and the owners are in their late 60s early 70s...and have owned the car since the 80s, when it was worth absolutely nothing...it was bound for a scrapper and they noticed some things and saved it

If KC was closer to the east coast I would love there. I visit every chance I get. And you are correct - so many cars in collections without fanfare. I know one guy that has an AC Bristol, an Arnolt Bristol, a Cisitalia SC 202 and an Abarth 750 all in unrestored condition in one small garage.

I have a line on a few good Alfas. A 1963 2600 Spyder comes to mind. And a 2000. You can reach me at kelly@classictag.net when you are ready to bit the bullet. Also might have a client in England for the RHD 240Z.

This conversation reminds me of the Italian Sports car that was the garage mate to the Stage 1 that was one of my first resto-mods. Owned by George Bassett of Coral Gables Florida, I had never heard of one, but I did get a ride in this one.
Iso Grifo Can Am 7 liter... a 435HP 427BBC powered exotic..

It looked exactly like this one.

I am not much for exotics, but this one was cool, and the 3 deuce 427 was Impressive looking under the hood.

Jim: You know I know both cars because as my twin brother i remembered the Buick and the Iso both from day 1. The Buick is still in my garage after my brother passed in 2008. The Iso was sold to a person in California around 2006. He didn't drive it much and had a few other toys like the Buick, a '97 porsche 993 convertible and a '97 Pontiac Firehawk LT4 (#1 of 24). Who needs a family car? He put the 3 deuce setup on the Iso but sold it with the factory 4 bbl intake. Today, that car is worth alot but we just enjoyed driving them as they were intended for. Now its probably a museum piece and never driven. Too bad..... Pat
