Hi all, I stumbled across this beauty (remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder) in a barn in Upstate NY couple of weeks ago. It's been there for 10+ years after having been bought in PA as an earlier barn find that had sat since 1972.
Pros :Some rust issues but the frame is straight and solid, interior is completely intact, top is rotted away but the frame is fine and the power works! Gauges all work, knobs, handles and cranks are all there.

Cons: the floor pans in front are a hot mess where someone cut and welded to accept the '66 300ci 2v 310 Wildcat/St300 power train that they decided to replace the original aluminum 215/2speed? with. I was told the original owner parked the car when the 215 seized then sold it some time later with the bad motor and the second owner did the engine/trans swap, drove it for awhile and parked it again for 30+ years when the antique 'picker' I bought it from found it and picked it up with the intention of using it as advertising but never found time to do anything with it so it sat in his barn in NY till he decided to sell it as a parts car
Apparently, the same owner removed most of the chrome and badges and bondo'ed up the holes along with rocker panel rust-out. ( Man, this stuff is impossible to find!)
The best news : I pulled the valve covers, cleaned up the rockers and springs, checked the pushrods, poured some Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders and turned the rotating assembly over a few times with a big wrench on the crank pulley nut and let it sit for a couple of days before I hooked up a battery and turned the key to bump it over. Eureka!! No not so funny noises and it turns over as if it was running yesterday :)
Next! plugs, wires, points, condenser, coil, oil and filter and some fresh gas from a can and I'll let you know if she starts.
Any suggestions of anything more I might do before I try to start it? What oil should I put in it?
