I 'm trying to clean up some loose ends in my shop and create some extra room. One of the things I'm looking to sell is a set of valve covers that I took in "trade" for a wider version. The customer had them sitting on his shelf for a long time but never installed them. He finally got to using them and discovered he wanted my wider, taller new versions, so I took them in trade. They had some "shelf bruises" and "scratches", so I decided to tumble finish them like I've been doing on my cast engine parts. (I'll stick to only tumbling cast parts LOL). Well, I didn't like how they turned out so I tried polishing them. The problem I see is that the tumbling process left an uneven finish that still shows through the polished finish. (You can see that in the pictures). They're not terrible, but to be a true polished finish they should be sanded first and then polished. Other options would be to just scuff them with Scotchbrite for a satin finish, paint them, or just use as is. These covers have a pair of -10 male fittings for a vacuum pump, a -12 female fitting, (with plug if needed) and a -16 Oil Fill bung with O-ring. The retail on these with the options, is $516. I'll sell these "as is" for $425 plus shipping. I can also finish them in any way you want, including different fittings etc. at an additional cost. Steve
Ethan, they're not too much taller than stock and I've never heard a complaint that they didn't clear. If you can measure and let me know how much room there is I can get you the height of the valve cover, (I don't know it off the top of my head and I'm not in the shop at the moment). Steve
OK, since there's been a lot of "looking" and not much "buying" with these, I've decided to do a raffle at the GS Nat's. Ethan, (Hugger), will have a table set up selling some items and also selling the GSR T-shirts. He will have them on display and will be selling the tickets. You can also buy tickets from me at the Nat's, if you can find me pedaling my bike around! LOL Thanks to all!! Steve
