I'm Chris. I have been lurking here for a while but thought I should check in finally, especially as I may have some questions soon. I have been interested in the 70-72 GS's for a while. I had a 69 Chevelle for a while, sold it and bought a Camaro. Got divorced, sold the Camaro, and now I am in a spot to buy another. About me, I spent a number of years on active duty in the Army and now have been Air Force Reserve for a while. I'm currently activated to go to school to be aircrew. I'm a federal civilian when I am not wearing a flight suit. I would also venture that at 35, I am a lot younger than most guys here, as I always was when I had my Chevelle. I have a lot of tools guys my age don't even know about because they're all working on cars with computers.
Greetings from Florida. While I dont know much about the small Buicks I'll be glad to chime in on any drive line questions you might have.
Hey hey hey were all young man plain and simple that's why we turn wrenches drag race lowride cruise hang out with the guys drink beer bbq and enjoy life and drink beer.... Welcome from so cal were it's hot as heck. 114 degrees tomorrow. This is a great forum for informational and some good laughs every now and then.
Thanks guys. Just taking a look around I've already been able to learn a lot already. I was a member of Team Chevelle when I owned my 69, and really learned a lot being on that site. Obviously we're a smaller, more niche group here, but the knowledge is just as good. Plus, I kind of like the niche part. You see a few Chevelles at every show. You see far fewer Gran Sports. I also like the idea of the "fast with class." I've owned a few Buick's as dailys and its like driving down the street on you couch! Again, I super appreciate what everyone is contributing here already.
Welcome Chris. I’m in VA 30 yr old here. Share the same passion and learning from everyone. It’s a good family here
Complicated question. I am in Central PA. Being activated right now I live in New Jersey during the week. Budget, I'm looking to keep it around 35k. I'm looking for a 455 car, an original preferably. I don't really want a project (been there done that) but I don't mind tinkering. That said I dont really expect a concourse car at that price. I had one in mind meeting those requirements recently, but it sold before I could get my finances together and see it. Seems like you guys often know specific cars, or have seen the car in question. Is there a forum thats appropriate to post that sort of question on? Like say I had an ad for a car in Michigan I was interested in?
Near the bottom of the home page is Cars Wanted. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?forums/cars-wanted.46/ You wouldn’t believe what some of these guys know and remember about these cars.
Welcome Chris. There are actually a decent number of us younger kids here on the board. I am in my lower 30s
