Hello! New here and tried to look thru the history for this thread.... I had it bored out and put in a larger cam. I have headers and new intake manifold. Any thoughts on what size carb would work well here. Not sure the bore size but not that much over original. Thanks for your thoughts
A properly running Q-jet is arguably the more sophisticated of the two. A differently calibrated 750 cfm Q-jet powered a factory 70 GS 455 stage 1.
So a guy I'm have help me with my car said a 600 edlebrock is all I need. However I bet my money you are the wiser of the two. It seems to drive good. What will be if any downsides of this decision?
Well I would find anther guy.. Fast Assuming you have a V8 in your skylark 350s came out of the factory with a 750 CFM 455s came with 800s
Never mind just found an old thread that already told me I screwed up in hiring this guy. Took me 5 minutes to see tons info on the need for the 750.
My experience has usually been that Chevy guys love Edlebrock carbs and they love 600's. Neither work well on a Buick V-8. Probably a Chevy guy that first came up with name Rotten- Chester Quadra-Junk because they think a Holley is the only carb that will work...on anything. The info and people you find on this board will help you find, buy, install and tune the best combination of parts for your 70. Welcome to the family! Philip T.
Just to clarify, you have a buick 350 engine? not a chevy 350? Will make a big difference in carb size.
