I bought my Mickey Thompson's (245/60-15) from Summit for $109 each with free shipping. Watch Summit, they have good sales & free shipping sometimes.

Ooooh, I like that. I like the nostalgia of the MT. that seems like a good price.

The number after P is the section width in mm. A P235/60R-14 has a section width 10mm smaller than a P245/60R-14. That also affects the tire height since the sidewall is 60% of the section width. That makes the 235 tire 12mm shorter, (638mm vs. 650mm) about 1/2". There are 25.4mm to 1"

Ive had coopers on my 68 since the late 90s. Absolutely love them. I dont have much to compare to since its all ive ran but Im not gonna change it up since they've done me well. Great tire in my opinion. 245/60/15[IMG]

I have been looking at the Cooper's as well for my '66 since they are much cheaper than the BFG's and everyone seems to like them. But eventually I will want to put Red Lines on the car and will go with the BFG Silvertown Radials. They are a Coker tire from what I can find, but you can get them through Summit much cheaper since they have Free Shipping. Still freaking expensive, but man they look good. So as soon as I am less likely to burn the tires down at every possible chance I may make the switch.

decided on Coopers 235/60/15 on 8.5 Buick ralley wheels that lowered the car 1". now I have only2"of clearance with my MT headers.love the looks of the deep ralley wheels. I put 40 lbs in my Coopers.Ken

I agree 100%..... Debating the $250 price tag per tire for a 255/60/15 for that big redline.

If you go through Diamondback you can choose T/A's or Coopers. Expensive, but they are really nice.

They made my dual whitewalls to my specs (Spacing/size of lines) I matched my original spare :)

Put 215/70/15's up front and 255/60/15's in the rear.

At that price you think twice about lighting them up :3gears:

Redlines with a red pin stripe would really look sharp (Ya, I know it's a 68).

Interestingly, Cooper Cobras in 255/60/15 are ten bucks cheaper at Discount Tire ($105.-) vs. 245/60/15 ($115.-) in the Mpls. area.

Alluded to a little before, but I pose the question: anybody with experience of 255/60/15 on the front end of their '68-'72 A-body? Any fitment issues found?

I had 255/60-15's on the front of my 1971 Stage 1. They would rub at full lock, especially on uneven pavement. When they would rub, I would just back off of full lock a little. Since I rarely drove at "full lock", it really was not an issue. I also ran them on the front of my 1969 SS396 Chevelle with no problems.

What did they rub on Mike? The fender? Something else?

I have had P255/60R-15 on the front of my car for at least a decade. They are on 15 X 7" Buick wheels with 4 3/8" back spacing. Never any issues at all. No rubbing at all under any condition. My springs and bushings were replaced back in 1997 by the PO. If your suspension is sagging, you might have issues.

Will 68-69 front be different than 70-72 like it is for the rear?
