I didn't know where to put this but thought someone might want to see what I did. I did some searches and didn't come up with much. I have a 70 GS455 that needs some love. As posted in the qjet thread I caught it on fire way back when and now I'm trying to get it back running and driving again.

The original cable got some heat and melted to the metal part so it had no more throttleing action.

    It also broke.

I looked at several places. Ta perf, parts place, opgi(where I ordered from) among others. I don't like to have to call somewhere and then spend a bunch on shipping, and the parts place had some wild statement where they couldn't tell you up front what the shipping would be. So that left opgi. They had a good pic of the cable, shipping clearly calculated and I little google search netted me a coupon code that essentially covered the shipping(how bout that for time well spent).

Funny part is when it arrived(well packed and within a few days, couldn't get anything this quick from kennebell), the package had the parts place on it so I'm sure it is the same cable they sell (though I did pay $20 more through opgi, but they were clear about the shipping and had a better pic and ease of use on their website, are you listening other venders, good website gets you business, or at least it does from me and every millennial).

A couple things when comparing original to the repop.

A pic of the tag on the original and where it was by the tape mark.

Close up of the tag. This one has a BC on it. I'm sure that means something but I'm not sure what.

The cables are very similar but there are some differences.

The end sheath part is a different length on them. Doesn't affect performance just different.

The little ferule thing on the end is different. Again doesn't affect performance just different. Also you need to have the little plastic slide in deal to attach it to the stock gas pedal bracket. I reused the stock one.

This is up under the dash so once installed no one will probably ever see it. Different.

It fit in the bracket . I guess from my reading this is something you will need when going to the big block, just some thing to note. I saw many brackets for sale when searching for the cable.

I went ahead and got a return spring as I didn't trust the spring after it went through the fire and is almost 50 yrs old.

If you need more pix or have questions post em up.
I think that $90 for a cable and return spring is ridiculous but hey, at least I was able to get one and it fit very well.

I almost for got the hard part up under the dash.

The ferule in that plastic piece in the pedal arm.

Another pic of the cable and and the littl plastic piece.

To get the old cable out I used a medium channel lock pliers on the manifold bracket. I tried to get it up to the cable retainer under the dash but not enough room so I used a little pry bar and a flat bladed screw driver to move the retaining "wings" in and remove the old cable. The new one just pushes back into place.
