Well have about 50 miles on the budget build now. It’s running well, Starting to leave the rubber tire marks here and there in Vancouver. Way more power and torque versus the 350 I removed. If the drag strip ever re opens (covid!) I’ll run her and see if I can beat my previous time slip of 16.18
    Still looking for a shroud.

Any feedback on the TA shrouds?

I was at Dragway 42 in Salem Ohio yesterday evening after work, the owner got on the P.A. and told everyone to keep "social distancing, cause all it takes is someone to see pics on Facebook and report the track and he'll get shut down"
You could tell he was serious, and a bit nervous.
Norwalk (Summit Motorsports Park) is not opening at all this season:(

Covid 19 infection rates are starting to climb here again as people are simply not following social distancing. Mission raceway is open in limited way, but still no street legal events to date. I’ll just keep putting street miles on and enjoy the car.

That shouldn't be a problem, back in 86 I freshened up at 73 standard head 455 with the KB 118 cam, headers, 70 stage 1 carburetor, fuel pump,Stock turbo 350 trans, 2.93 gear Posi full weight 71 Skylark with air on G60 street tires 13.67 @ 101mph finally shifted in the third going through the lights.

Hell I’d be super happy with that. With my 3:42 posi, tri shield 9.5 stall and recent econo build with some drag radials, maybe there’s a chance.

The 350 that came out could only do a 16:18 !

Buick 350 is a good strong reliable motors for the most part but they don't have enough torque to move a GS on the track i'm sure I'll get some kickback from that comment but I've lived it.

Thanks for the feed back. I may just have to go that route

No kick back here, what you say is true about the 455 having more torque than the 350.
Among 350 engines, the Buick 350 is a torque monster.

Canadian GS 350 - Thanks for the heads up on the this thread.
I wish you much luck with that car. Looks like it was a fun build.
I'll take a guess on your first run at the track (unless you were able to "sneak in" some performance testing prior).....14.46.
    Just a hunch. ;)

I'd be thoroughly disappointed in a 14.46. My stock 430 67 Riviera ran a 14.69 with enough slack in the timing chain to repurpose it as a slingshot.
    Hope for a 14.20

On your very first run down the strip?
I'm talking FIRST run down the strip.

My 350 GS with T350 and 3.42 rear on street tires and a crappy converter and a Holley vac secondary did a 15.1 first time out.
Had my original Q-Jet redone by Ken @ Everyday Performance I did a 14.78
    Drag radials dropped it more.
    A JW 9.5" converter 13.8
    Im holding @ 13.4 @ 101.56 with a roller cam and 11.1 to 1 comp with my iron heads:rolleyes:
Im around 3800/3900 lbs, power everything, including A/C

Mark, that is impressive for a 350 in full weight GS.

Picked up these 275/60/15’s yesterday there a little taller than my other drag radials, but have much more tread for future use if we ever get to open Mission drag strip still in covid restrictions up here in BC 9D12BCA7-6879-472B-A118-1867A01B5EC3.jpeg

Well guys, finally got to run at Mission street legal Friday night. Of 3 runs, best was 13.94 at 95 mph. Was only expecting mid 14’s, so I’m very happy with the result. Remember this is just a low compression, small valve 72-455. I’m sure the 3:42’s, the TSP 9.5 converter helped immensely. I ended up using 10.5x26 Mickey Thompson’s. Om my first run, car laid down a 14.026…..felt like a kid at Christmas! My 60 foot are still 1.9…..so probably need to work on that.
