blower motor resistor options

    I have been unable to locate a resistor for my 68 Electra. Has anyone ever used one from another car? It seems like I would be able to take the coils from a known good one and solder them into the original base.

    I have not tried this but have considered the same thing. If you go that route I'd be curious to hear the results.

    If you send me a clear picture of what you need,I have quite FEW OF THOSE RESISTORS,maybe I can match it.Bruno.

    i dont think that is your problem. i have repaired those before if the wire breakes you can patch them by soldering but that doesnt look broken, there is no mystery to those they are more "mechanical" the electrical if you have a multimeter check them for continuity, but unless there is a physical break that isnt in the pics that one is probably ok. and if i remeber those were pretty universal, i just picked on up for a buddys 65 impala at autozone
