The blower switch only seems to work on the max setting. Every once in awhile the blower will randomly work correctly . The ac compessor co.es on at all settings and the air inlet doors do as well. It just seems the blower motor is unable to vary speeds.
where is this part located? I sprayed nearly every connection in the car with electrical cleaner and then hit it with some fluid film to keep out any possible corrosion.
Many cars have a sep part mounted near the fan. I cannot say if that is the case here or where it is located. A faulty one might explain your problem and if so a switch will not fix it.
I don't have a manual (or a car!) to check and take nice pics but here are some posts that could help: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?251338-What-is-the-Heater-Resistor http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?235944-Blower-Motor
