Seriously, all the interior trim and exterior chrome are just piled in there, anybody need anything?

How about my helper there?

James, what up with the hand signs? Is that the sign of the Bloods or the Crips!?

I'm pretty sure it's the "High-Blood-Sugar-Content SharkBoy", often seen in our neighborhood careening wildly down the street on smaller bicycles, arms and legs flailing about wildly....

I would check out the power options on the car. The p.trunk will work on Skylarks so will the PDL with minor mods. If the fan shroud is there, those are in demand. I think you can even sell the rallye wheels.

The trunk remote release is already on my LeSabre :Brow: , but the power window and lock stuff is still there, I think. Most of the dash stuff is gone (now), it didn't have many options. No posi, either. Rats.

What's the going rate for the rally wheels, and wouldn't shipping be a killer? There are actually quite a few cars with them in this yard, the local Buick dealership used to be the only good one for a hundred miles...

The full size rally wheels typically sell for $100-175/set for nice ones.
Shipping is based on your zip code and the buyers. Wheels weigh about 25 lbs boxed individually. If you have a FedEx account, you can get better rates shipping to a business. If you can find the Skylark 15x7 rallye wheels in nice condition, those sell for $200-250/set. The PDL with all wiring, switches, harness, linkages will sell for $100-150. If the yard owner is negotiable, you can make some decent money by removing those parts. I am sure you are one of a few "Buick" guys there and he would love to sell as many parts as he can.

The power door lock wiring runs along the top of the interior side of the firewall. You can't get at it from underneath, but pull the dash pad and it's easy. Getting all the wires and connectors makes it much more appealing.

By the way, the boattail works pretty good roofless, I'm surprised. I thought the roof was a crucial part of the design. I can imagine the boatail lines building to a corvette style waterfall between the seats. Taking the roof off really emphasized the hip over the rear wheels.

I've often wondered what it would look like if someone took a rusted out LeSabre convertible, bolted on the Riviera nose and doors and did some creative trim work to mimic the arc over the rear wheels. I know the Riviera is pure B-Body up to the front seats but the rear is unique.

I've never been in a yard where they let you drive in. All the yards around here would never trust their customers that much.

    James,

Board member Riv71 (Hugo from the Netherlands) is looking for a dash pad in this colour:

If the car on the photo has the same colour dash pad, and if it's in good nick, I'm sure he will be interested. :TU:

Just another reason to live in West Texas! That place is huge, and they're in the middle of clearing out entire rows, but they keep the old stuff. Only problem is, the old stuff is being moved around, so their index books are meaningless, you have to drive up and down each row looking. Not that I mind, it's my favorite way to spend the day with Bruce! :bglasses:

Rally wheels and PDL for $$$? I might just have to start going there more often... :Brow:

I did take some pics of several old Buicks in there, mostly full-sized stuff. I'll post them when I get a chance. :TU:

It was pretty much shot...not much left of it even before I made a rather large hole where the center speakers go...SO much easier to get to the back of the speedo that way... :Brow:

I know how hard a green dash pad is to find, it took me awhile to find one... I'm always looking for green interiors, and I'll keep Hugo in mind!

Isn't the Riv dash different from the Electra/LeSabre/Centurion?

Yes, the Riv dash is different on the pasenger side.

Check for the floormats, and if you could for me, get the vin # and cowl tag info and any options so I can add it to the boattail registry? Thanks :TU:
P.S. I like the license plates. :Brow:

No floormats, but it does have this really cool shag carpet...

Good eye on the plates, I hadn't caught that!

I'll get the info and PM it to you next week.

the roof was removed probably because the car had a sunroof :puzzled: :Do No:

how's the quarters and outer wheel housings

If I remember, the body is straight except for the left front corner and the front has been pushed in. I don't remember cancerous rust, but I can look if you need them.

(How would you ship a quarter panel?)
