    Hello Ken,
No, I am working on my son's 72 Skylark - a project car for his first car. It is going slower than expected as you can probably well appreciate. He did not want to pull the body off but we are so close, I decided that it would make things easier (replacing floorboards) and the original mounts did not look to good. Therefore, we need new body mounts. You seem satisfied with the Chevelle mounts you purchased for your car?

How are you coming on your car?
Are you going to the BPG nationals?

As a result of this work, we will not be at the BPG Nationals this year. I have just a two more weeks before I start a new job so I am trying to get as much done now as possible. Maybe we will be at next year's with a couple of cars. If I could swing it, I would pull my car on a trailer with my Estate Wagon and pull a pop-up camper with my son's car! We have a ways to go! Would need a trailer and a camper! (plus finish his car that is essentially completely disassembled - no small feat!)

I got my mount kit today it is a very nice kit from www.ss396.com I ordered the supp kit also ,they couldn't tellme if i would need it or not , so far as i see it the convertible kit i ordered only comes with 2 of the puck type mounts Buick uses 4 of them in position #3 and #5 so as i see chevrolet only uses them in #3 & #5 on wagon and p.u. and on convertibles in the #1 mount and use them on the non convertible cars in #3 only (it think thats the el camino) Any way with the supp kit witch consists of 2 extra mounts and bolts if i can get 2 more of just the puck type fo #5 mount then you dont need the sup kit I will call and see what the deal is looks as if you order the kit for the coupe /p.u. you get the 4 pucks for #3 & #5 and a supp kit will cover the #1 mount positions. "Thats if i have it right " all so there are 4 smaller mounts in the kit i think they go in the #7 spot and rad supportchek out the pics

    Kyle-

Too bad you won't be making it out to Salem this year. I enjoyed meeting you and your boys last year. Good luck with your son's skylark, and best of luck on the new job! My car is coming slow (sound familiar?).

    Dave-

I posted a pic of my frame here. It shows the position of the pucks. I don't know if you took your body off already or not, but my pucks were in excellent shape (as opposed to the other mounts) and I'll probably reuse them. Yours might be in great shape too.

Thanks for the info Dave. The kit looks good. I think I will order one from the Chevelle site. How long did they take to ship?

On the 72 Skylark we are working on, #3 has bolts where #4 and #5 are the puck type with no bolts. This is consistent with the chassis manual (I believe Ken posted a copy above).

I just got off the phone with the guys at ground up resto , ss396.com . They are great ,The kit i got looks and appears to be excelent quality i order the kit for the convertible , you can get the hdt kit but then you need the supp kit ,and 2 extra pucks
with the convert kit i got it all except the 2 hocky pucks for the upper spring towers #5 or #6 depending on witch diagram you use , witch they sell seperatly ,so with the convert kit and 2 puck its a full correct set you dont need the supp kit .Great guys to work with as for the washers they dont get used the hardware kit is sold seperatly and was also used for a bushing kit they used to use , the new bushing have the washer moulded right in the like the oem ones did, and you dont use the washers ( You get Them for free LOL)

    Another supplier

I found a few body mount biscuits on this site:
    http://www.restorationspecialties.com/
Take a look at pages 90-93 of their catalog.

I think some of these will complete what I need for my '66....I hope!

Thanks for the link Walt. :TU: I'll figure on ordering a few different size mounts from these guys. I have 2 sets of used mounts for a 67 Special. From whats left of them I'm pretty sure there was 4 different size mounts. The ones I got from Ground Up are all the same (for a Chevelle) plus the rad. cradle mounts were very small compared to the original and might be a problem when aligning the front fenders. I'll post any positive things I find out.

RG67BEAST, I am about to do the same on my 67 GS400. Did you come up with a kit that you were happy with, I.E. mount thickness, molded in steel/rubber parts, and over all diameter? IF so what venders and part #'s were you happy with? I really appreciate your time and help. I have a body manual on order so that should help me. Our 64-67's are so often so different and overshadowed by the more popular 68-72 cars. Craig

    Thanks for the reply Flynbuick,
I did notice that it is an older post and I PM'd RG67BEAST also, I just tried to cover both bases. The link you provided is for the 68-72 kit, that's kinda what I was referring to about the older cars. lol
    The 64-67 kit is http://www.fusickautomotiveproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=BM647K
I was curious as to exactly how the kits differed from original. I have researched all the threads that my advanced search supplied and really haven't come up with anything definitive. The only place to find the 67 style front radiator support core mount that is square like original is at Fusick's also. It lists them for 66-72, Do you know If the thickness or height is correct on them? I.E. 67 mounts at 3/4" verses the 1.0 to 1 1/8" of 68-72's?
    Thanks again,
    Craig

I know this is on the Restoration Thread. But in the February issue of Muscle car review page 60. energy suspension has a new body mounts. they call the Energys hyper-Flex poly urethane. For GM A-body. These would not be concourse. But are sweet. And look Awesome. the set is the bomb!

Did Energy Suspension ever figure out that Buick's use 4 mounts at the front of the body? I've never really been able to find out if their kit has the correct amount of bushings in it for the GS and Skylark applications. I plan on using these, so It would be nice to know before I order if I'd need some extras. What would be the correct part number for our cars?

Ground UP (www.ss396.com) has a decent kit with flanged bolts. Kit contains bushings which are all the same type. Those are correct for most locations on a 65-67. The correct press-in bushings over the rear (puck style), and the larger diameter bushings behind the rear axle can be found at CARS or Restoration Specialties. You can check with Inline Tube as well, they have been mentioned in our 65-66 discussions as well.

Bill and I discussed the '66 bushings in this thread:

I am too trying to order them for my 67 convertible. I know the rad supports were square and will have to measure them.

I looked at Cars as Walt has the part numbers but don't see BM4 listed.

I don't want to by the cheapest just what will work so the fenders line up correctly with the core support mounts.

Dave (Copperhead) looked at a lot of suppliers for mounts and went with Fusick for his GSX. Perhaps we can find his thread or maybe he will chime in here.

Dave got them from CARS as well, or rather their sister site:
    http://www.oldcarstuff.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=1450

The 64-67's use 3/4" thick cushions, but the 70's use a thicker 7/8" or 1".
