Well I thought I destroyed my tranny street racing it last month. Took it to a shop that cost me a whopping $1700 to fix something that according to builder that I must have done wrong 10 years ago. The bolts on inside the pump came loose and 1 backed out far enough that the head was chewed or ground off into the direct drum, which bolt and parts ended up into 2nd gear clutches bent some of them into bent scrap. The main shaft was worn real bad, and one of the roller bearings was disintegrated somewhere? I said WHATEVER. Just fix it.
He tried to say them bolts wasn't even torqued down on pump. The manual I used said 18 to 20 on torque, and he said it needed to be 25. I think a little thread locker would have prevented this issue.
