I know what your saying Mike, slow..slow..slow winter. We had 3 inches of snow 3 weeks ago and it swamped us, we're a week and a half out right now, hell we even had two cars run into each other right in front of the shop on Wed, $6500 worth on a new Grand-Am.

If anyone is interested in bringing your car into Mike I am sure he would get at least 3 of his best employees on top of it right away, probably more if you have a really big hood.

    Mike,
Tonight I'll take some pics of my car and send them to ya, and you can give me a loose idea of what it's gonna cost. I'll need another week or so to get the cam in and get it running.

Wow.......I don't think I could sit still for any length of time like that, I would go nuts! We have been slower than normal here for car sales, but it has been picking up quite a bit now. This last month I have even had to really move my butt to keep up. It also helps that we have a deer population problem here. :eek2:
I do get to sit around for 15 minutes once in a while though while I have a car under the heat lamp.

Maybe JW could use some help up there? hehe :Brow:

    8 WEEKS IS TOO MUCH!!!!

Well we are totally dead again !!:af: I sent half the crew home already (which sucks).

Anyone wishing to have a car done here, I thought I would throw down my basic rules I go by about time and materials.:Comp:

We use a time clock and there is no flag hours other than what we charge out. If a guy here works on it for 3 hours he gets 3 hours pay, unlike the insurance company way of a bid for hours get it done in ten minutes get paid 3 hours still. As for the materials I only charged out what we used on the car. You cant be more fair than that.

This way we can do the car as it needs to be and when its done the hours are reflective to the final outcome. AND if in the middle of production you change your mind on something we dont have to renegotiate the bill. AND one more thing if you decide to stop anywhere along the way we can stop settle up and go on without any hard feelings.

I have here a picture of the mustang we just did it was done over a 6 month time zone. Every end of month the owner would pay us for where we were on it so that it wont be a extra large bill at the end. the total of the hours and materials is around $12,500 on this job. That included 2 1/4s and total disassemble with stripping and refinish with clear coat. I made it sound easy but to make something this nice we reprimed and blocked over 3-4 times per panel. Also I didnt tell about the color sand and polish job. It took over 3 days and it shows no orange peel now!:TU:

If anyone is interested in this kind of a cosmetic restoration I am your guy. We are not set up for a frame off as of yet :Brow: Let me know or call me for a conference at 785-235-5355 ask for the body shop:laugh:

Looks good Mike! What kind of hourly cost would someone be looking at for a job like this? Just curious:Brow: .

It was listed above but anyway I have 6 tickets totalling $12,500 on it..........

Maybe I missed how many hours the project lasted then, but I was looking for a cost by the hour. $12k is about right, but what does that come out to? $55 an hour or so plus materials? Maybe I didn't clarify the question I was asking well enough. :Do No:

OOOoooo Sorry It is $36 hour our normall rate for the BS is $42 hour. I think the materials on this job was near $2000 so the rest was labor and a few peices/ parts
