Wow that would be an incredible dream to find that block or any of the other original items. I did get a Catlin built 71 stage1 carb, a nos stage 1 distributor. I love the car and trying to do it right. Finding that block would be incredible.
Thank you everyone for the replies. Hope everyone looks it up in BG and introduces them self.

Stan, This is awesome! your first post on V8Buick is about helping another member, a complete stranger! I can't thank you enough for any work required to gather information or  finding the original block.
We have an incredible community! My wife and I had a conversation about this for an hour and I am so happy to be part of a group such as ours, where each of us are willing to help others.
Thanks to all of Keith's racing friends and friends of V8Buick!!

Pat, Thank you for your thoughtful comment! :TU::beerWhen I had those in the back of the truck and was wrapping Fritz's spoiler for hours, my wife was asking if I knew you guys or met at one of the BPG events. I said something similar about karma and people needed my help. One day, I may need help, and in my mind, I want to feel I make contributions to this group beyond reading and learning from all the experience here.
    Thanks Pat!

That is the previous owner in the red TA performance shirt. Some of you may recognize Pam and Jerry Berger there.

These are the ones I found . I'm sure there are more of it at Bowling Green but I think Stan has those. Iwas given a disk with a BUNCH of pix on it but forgot it at Stan's house on our last visit. I'm sure there are action pix of it going down the track at Bowling Green unless I'm just imagining it. I know Keith loved to row that five speed. And he drove it to and from bowling green, It was a street car. I hope you keep it that way even after all the money and time. He built it to be driven, I hope you do too.

Terry said he wasn't sure Keith had the original block, though he loved the free ice cream at one of the local BarBque joints. I hope you can take the car out for Ice Cream in Keith's honor when it is finished.

I will be driving this car. I had a GSX that sat in the bubble and we did not enjoy that part of owning a car. I had Gary Herche build a reliable, well built, combo to enjoy, driving not sitting in the bubble. He is trying very hard to have me take it down the track at BG, but..........man am I nervous about that.
I will make a point of taking the car to our favorite local family owned Dairy Point ice cream stand, in Keith's honor when we get it on the road. I love their Super Giant Hot Fudge malt. This is one of our summer time treats after Boy Scouts. OOOOOh I can't wait to row the gears and enjoy this car!

Thanks for all of the photo's. I do hope his friends stop by in BG and chat with Herche and me. I'm sure Fred Catlin will be there with us too.

I am glad to see it get driven. Why else would one own a four speed big block muscle car?

Looking forward to more progress pix!

Here are some before pics....As James mentioned, this was an incredible base. Look at the Hayes frame PN image. The entire frame, and car for that matter, were SMOOTH and clean. What a difference from the "rust belt" cars I am used to seeing.

    Awesome pix.

I love the master cylinder with the bleeders. You hardly see those. I guess they came on the front disk cars as mine had one on it when I bought it.

    Keep up the great work.

I'm guessing it made it to bowling green?
If so I hope you take and post some pix.
I hope you make a pass or two down the track too.

Rich, I am sad to say, no, it did not make it to BG. We had a delay with glass installation, but it is done now and should be delivered next week.
The entire interior and some bolt on stuff still needs installed when it gets here so I am still a couple weeks away from driving it.
I really wanted to have it in BG and to meet some of the previous owners friends. In due time I guess. I will post some pics once I get the car.

Don't worry about that. Not everything goes as planned. I'm still super glad this car is getting the "LOVE" it deserves.

I'm looking forward to the pix of the trip for ice cream.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Great seeing that your car is getting a top notch resto. As I get older, I find that I'm farming more out than I used to. I'm no painter (never have been) so I always farm that out. Sucks that I was "ass-burned", but I can see that You were smarter than I and picked the right shop to do yours.
