They are very close. Spark plug holes are drilled at a compound angle and are difficult to put in, in a vertical machining center with a 4th axis. One more operation to go, and then seats can be pressed in and cut.
Easy op, just separate. BTW, How's your irons coming along Andy? They should be done by now I'd think. Derek is part timing it at Daves. Get him going....
How much trial and error for the proper angle and best ignition combustion testing? Then the valve seats machining.. Still maby 6 months away?? Actually post #742 pic I believe there are some plug hole where the Chevy Rockers are being tested??
Going off of what was said above; when OP2 is complete, we fixture up OP3 for the spark plugs. Only takes a few minutes to run.
Prolly an obvious question but will they use the same type of plugs as stock? As in thread, seat type, length, etc?
My guess is they will use a flat seat plug with a gasket just like all their other aluminum heads. I use the NGK FR-5. Same plug as the UR-5 except for the seat and gasket.
Talked to Derek the other day. I guess Henry found more area to port. Might be going in there again. Get more flow.
Neato. Long story short, heads are one step closer to being in the hands of the public! https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=441307466666068 If the video above is just a link, you should be able to still watch it if you don't have a facebook account. I tried it logged out of my facebook, and it works. Video is property of TA Performance, of course.
Did Mike Jr bookface post any dyno testing yet, thought that was going to happen before they're ready to sell.
