This is what a Buick 350 crank (3.85 stroke) looks like in a Rover 4.0 aluminum block. The mains were cut down to 2.5495 years ago for a now dead P76 project. The crank is sitting in the block with no bearings. A gent on the British V8 board asked to see how this looked, so, here it is. She who must be obeyed has forbidden me from pursuing this further. Anyway, the 350 crank turns freely with no obstructions. As for making it work in this block, I have no idea (money). Obviously, its less expensive to do this with a 300. Greg Rods left to right: Buick 215, Rover 3.5\3.9, SB Chevy 327, Buick 3.8 V6 (odd fire), Buick 300, P76, Buick 350(73-80), Buick 340\350(66-72)
GREAT! thanks for the photos Gregg! Thinking about selling the project since the kitchen pressure won't allow it to move forward?
bump, did this go to anyone thats willing to finish the project? or did you keep it but just on back burner?
pursue it stealthly the wife wont know :Brow: btw, wasnt there some kind of issue with this block? webbing on crossbolt mains crack? or was it something with the heads cracking?
:idea2: Just dont let Jim Blackwood see this. His brain would explode with ideas. :eek2: :idea2: :TU: To You Jim!! PONCH
