Oops I'm on Long island, NY, yup and hurricane Sandy wiped out allot of people's stock of blocks they ended up as scrap metal usually. But anyways I'm looking for a block that would pass a sonic check, I should have clarified, still new to this. Though if it's a good one I'll pay for shipping and if local I'll take a chance

I have a 455 block, standard bore, w/main caps. It's a code "TA", which I believe is a 1971 block. For what it’s worth, the VIN is 41X202195. The block is dirty and will need to be tanked. The bores do have some surface rust which I thought was pitting at first, so I lightly honed the two worst ones and they cleaned up, so I’m certain that a full bore job will come out nicely. The lifter bores look OK, and visually, it has a bit of core shift, but not too bad, although I never had it sonic checked, nor has it been magnafluxed.

I no longer need this block, and probably never will need it, as I no longer have my GS and have no plans to get back into the hobby. The block is presently mounted on a cheap but serviceable Lakewood #33060 engine stand which will be included. I just want to get it out of my basement.

Price:$125.00 for both block and stand.

If interested, you'll need to bring along a friend for local pick-up only, as my arthritis makes it impossible for me to help carry it up the basement stairs.

    I'm in Shirley, Long Island.

"WS" is the code stamped on the deck signifying what the engine was. In this case it's a '72 Stage 1. A '70 Stage 1 had an SS code, a '71 Stage 1 had a TS code, and so on.

If vanilla bean isn't interested in your WS block , I would probably be interested in buying it.

Oh no I've taken so long my bad guys I found a good block believe or not buried in my machinists shop I happened to catch it by eye since he's an all Chevy kinda guy. It's pretty solid and if that was wasn't so damn far away that short block but honestly I'm building a 470 lol that's why I only wanted a block
