My 455 finally gave up the fight and spun a rod bearing a few weeks ago. Besides my crank being toast (might be able to get it machined) I am also looking at replacing a potentially ruined rod. If the rod isn't reusable can I just replace the 1 rod and if so who sells them individually. I've been looking around and I can only find sets. I might be able to reuse the old rod but that's still to be determined. I'm just trying to make sure I have my bases covered for when I need to start shelling out the dollars. Thanks for any advice anyone could lend me!

If your original rod cant be machined, I'm sure somebody or a machine shop that does Buicks will have some around.
A lot of 455 guys go aftermarket forged and still have their factory rods.

As long as your rod didn't turn blue(ish) it didn't get hot and can probably be resized. They machine shop will face off the rod and cap mating surfaces and
re-hone the bore to a standard size with a Sunnen rod honing maching. Not to $$$ or complicate, and the rest of the rod will be scrutinized as well. I.E. the wrist pin end, straightness etc. Just an FYI... Even a used rod (or a set for a rebuild) should be checked with a bore gage for accuracy. ws
