I am new to the Buick scene but not the car scene. I recently bought a 1964 Skylark that has been changed over to a 4 speed with a 327 Chevy motor. Looking to upgrade the steering and braking and then to drive her this summer before planning any further upgrades.
And NY!that's also a 64 on my avatar, but mine is strictly a race car.It just went 9.04 and 148 mph in Bowling Green this October, this on pure Buick's muscle with a stroked 455,to 494.Bruno.
I live in Fairfield, where in Vermont are you? I have a buddy who lives in Essex that also has a 64 Skylark. My email is vtcutlass1@gmail.com if you want to talk further.
I live in St. Rocks, just down the road by the Stones farm. My car is stored st my buddies house in Swanton until spring. Then it will be out and about town.
The scout has been the focus of my attention lately. I bought it this summer out of Irasburg. It's a barn find of sorts. The last inspection sticker was '91. I threw some money at the drivetrain, made it roadworthy and drove it into the fall. The wife and I took it camping in New Hampshire. Once the weather turned I started the resto. I am about 75% done with the rust repair. I hope to have it at the body shop by March 1st.. it'll be the daily driver after that.
That's a great barn find. If I ever get another car it will be something I can drive in the winter. I already have a 70 El Camino that I was working on before I bought the Buick. So it may be a while before that happens
