    Or even a fill to the top of the freeze plugs. I've seen BBCs filled to the plugs making 2k hp.

    Obviously Buicks aren't graced with structure like the BBC but I'm sure it's worth something.

    Something else that stops doing what can be done with a BBC block is that the water inlets on a BBB are closer to the bottom of the bores. While the BBC blocks have the water inlets closer to the top of the bores that allow filling them just below the deck by filling to the bottom of the water inlets. Filling to the bottom of the BBB water inlets only basically fills the bottom of the water jacket that's called a "half fill" that doesn't do much of anything to keep the bores from flexing. May help keep the block from flexing a little though?

    Makes sense. From the research and knowledge I have it seems as harmonics may be a larger issue with these motors. In a sense harmonics is a version of flex, which in my basic knowledged of a mind means any amount of fill should "help" dampen the flex.

    All this is about flexing and harmonics?

    Now you can see why John Everett and I have 2 solid Al blocks. Although you will have to run Alcohol, The fill was easier, at least for us!

    My block is filled to the bottom of the water pump holes. I have no problem with cooling. I'll stage up at 160* make the run and only be 180 190 by the time Im back in my pit. Leave the pumps and fan on for 5-10 mins and its cool to the touch. Have no idea what it would act like on a street driven engine

    On a street driven car the coolant isn't the problem maintaining temp, its the heat build up in the oil, the more fill in a block the less cooling the oil gets. Would be no problem to run a filled about an inch or 2 below the deck of the block on the street with an oil cooler on a block that could still flow coolant.

    A BBB or a sbb have the water inlet holes, see post 23 above.

    In the thread below in the link I explored some options on block filling for a sbb 350 block that would have the same challenges filling as a BBB 400/430/455 block;

    http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/has-anyone-ever-block-filled-a-sbb-350.317202/

    Came to some interesting conclusions in the above thread that may be helpful if someone wanted to get the fill up higher while still being able to flow the coolant through the factory location. Haven't done it yet, but will be in the coming months and will add to the thread in the link, my results.
