Looking for a BOP TH350 built to handle 600 hp/tq for my Stage 2 464 street car.

I have a Turbo Action T-350 out of our NHRA Stock Eliminator Cutlass. It has forward pattern valve body, 2.75 first gear, and light weight internals. It's actually ~ 15 lbs. lighter than a stock tranny. Only draw back is there is only one clutch plate in reverse, so you can't back up aggressively. If interested, email me direct: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.

Can I ask why you want a 350 over a 400. I know they eat less power, but they take alot more to make last. Are you wanting a transbrake???

No trans brake. I'm running a 350 right now and I thought they had more favorable gear ratios over the 400. I have a '67 ST400 that I was going to build and send my ST300 torque converter to Jim W to have it built. I have a newer style tailshaft housing, BC valve body, 34 element sprag, & TransGo shift kit for it. Now I'm thinking about sticking with a fixed pitch. I thought if someone had a 350 that was built for a reasonable price then I'd snag it up.

Not sure what rear gear you are running, but I really doubt with those power levels you would need more 1st gea . 2.52 vrs 2.48 isn't much change. And a 350 built to live at those levels wont come cheap. I think I sold you the sp which is why I wondered the change in mind........but your plans with the parts you listed should give you a great feeling 400.

On average on the strip I think a 350 runs a tenth or so faster than a 400 basically due to massage weights inside the 400.

If your car is already setup for a TH350,then I can see staying with that. If you have a custom or aftermarket driveshaft already, then no sense in messing with that for a transmission swap. Some of the stocker guys would use the TH350. They did all sorts of tricks to them and ran some aluminum internals and such. Not exactly something you would want for street/strip use,but they came be built to handle your application. I personally would have one built for your application. I have a TH400 that would fit the bill, but 1,it’s a TH400;2,I can say how great it is,but it’s always heresay;3,I don’t really want to have another one built when I need one.
I have my transmissions built by a guy in Killeen Alabama, and has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful, any time I needed to build one. He can explain all of the what, why, and how, when selecting parts for each application. I like to do things once.

Maybe I can build my ST400 and run the switch off of the throttle linkage like it was set up from the factory. If I don’t like it I can try a controller. Thanks guys.
