Took the Buick and my lady on a nice 2 day trip down HWY to Cambria. Saw a really nice 72 Skylark convertible down here. The Buick ran like a top, no issues. 455 with sniper EFI, 4 speed manual and 3.45 gears. Tons of thumbs up along the way! I'm thinking of upgrading to a tko600 in the future to do more of this driving .
Nice car, what's your experience with the sniper kit been like to date? Which kit did you go with if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks! The sniper kit has been great so far. I did have an injector not fire but it was the pigtail that was unplugged. Other than that, it's been great. I went for the Master Sniper kit. It's good for up to 650hp and came with an in line pump. I later upgraded to the sniper EFI fuel tank / pump and the Sniper Hyperspark system. It starts right up and once it's dialed in, it runs super smooth. You can still tune the fuel graph and timing as well with a laptop. The timing control is awesome. I can do it from inside the car. If I did it again, I would get an in tank pump that isn't as noisy as this one but I've have no real issues with the set up. As long as you don't have vacuum leaks or exhaust leaks and your timing is dialed in, this system works great. Drivability is awesome.
I lived off The One Oh One. It is the north to south Route 66. So so much mad history. I am so grateful for my time spent out there.
Drove south (right side of the road) from Monterey to Morro Bay one time. Not a good road for folks that don't like heights. Sweaty palms make it hard to hold onto the steering wheel.
That was me the first time! I'm coming from San Jose, came through Monterey down to Cambria, were making our way back up this morning.
