    Hi Guys,

Some how I ended up with George Brett's sport wheel and its sticky as hell. Any way to clean up permanently or is the wheel doomed to a life of stickiness? Goo gone?

    thanks.

Simple Green. The plastic is just off-gassing and will do so until forever.

Is there nothing it can be coated with to put a layer between the wheel and your hands? Like a flexible lacquer or clear plastic? With today’s technology I gotta believe there is a product out there to accomplish this task.

ok, I will let it soak overnight. but I am curious as to what can prevent it from happening again as BadBrad indicates.

Once you soak it overnight, just wipe it down once in a while. That will keep it at bay. Even non gooey wheels get sticky over time

FWIW, I use brake fluid. A little on a rag and wipe it down. I don't soak it.
    Brake fluid, not brake cleaner.

Lacquer thinner will remove the stickiness but it comes back over time.
