I replaced my orig balancer on my 350 back in 2002. Last gm oem balancer in Canada and U.S, at the time (so i was told by parts man at dealership). Cost $135 cdn or about $100 u.s., then.

Send your original to damper dudes. They rebuild it perfectly and have it back in your hands in less than a week. I've had 3 done there.

What's their overall price? I see $108. But then a $125 core value.

No core if you ship yours to them. They will even put a sleeve on it if you are running a rubber seal. It came to be like $125 with the shipping. I live in Delaware and it shipped to California.

Just did a quick online check at all the major parts chains and all have listings for your balancer. Ranging in price from 149.00 to 400.00

So now the dummy question: is the 455 externally balanced TO the harmonic balancer or is the balancer merely a snout mounted counterweight? In other words, does the rotating assembly have to be balanced as an assembly? (I know it should). However for the sake of replacement as in sending mine in for overhaul, will these guys balance the balancer or grab a replacement from another core and ship it? I had an LS7 454 crate motor that came with a marine flywheel. It was going into a 68 SS 396 chevelle I had. After the motor was on the hook going in it was brought to my attention that the 454s have to be balanced as an assembly. Out and apart it came! ws

Didn't think about that. Great question.

My builder balanced the rotating assembly as a complete unit using the balancer I was to run in the car along with the flex plate.
