you should list your carb part number .
that carb may already be the 800 cfm version i think .
your carb , properly redone and set up , should be plenty and be a good all around choice for ya . if not worried about being OEM correct there may be a slightly better q-jet version/model to use .
ken , mark and or cliff will will chime in with more details i'm sure . and you can contact them for a quote .

Stephen, if you have the original carb, it will be the 800 cfm version and is a very good carb to utilize for your 455. In my opinion, you would not benefit from a carb change. If you are going to rebuild it yourself, don't get a parts store kit, it won't have what you need. Order parts from www.cliffshighperformance.com
If you are looking for a quality builder of the Buick quadrajets, please consider me, www.quadrajetpower.com or Ken at everyday performance that was mentioned above.

Post your carb number here and we can help you verify if it is the correct one. After 40 years, stuff gets changed around sometimes.

will try to get that this afternoon, tomorrow, presently changing out timing chain cover, radiator, bolt broke while doing water pump then cover cracked trying to remove it, is the air pump something that can be removed or does the motor need it, can not see any numbers on carb, just Rochester quad
