Well, I took Chris's advice. its a done deal! Jen and I went to Maryland and picked up my new 2019 Plum Crazy Challenger R/T Scat Pack. Its freaking awesome. I love it. Im been lusting after one of these cars since they came out and they have improved them every year. The dealer I was at seemed to be really performance oriented. They had 2 Hellcats on the floor, one was a red eye. The salesman told me they had 5 Demons allocated to them. When we pulled up, the car was right in front of the showroom, detailed, with my name on it I have a whole diatribe on my first dealership experience (yeah, mostly negative) but we were able to drive it home last night. We didn't get back till 1:30 Am. I was freaking out driving it through Brooklyn and Staten Island at midnight. Im physically and mentally shot this morning. Once I recharge my batteries today, I'll post up some pictures, the experience and my thoughts on the car. I had to go and look out the window this morning to make sure it wasn't all a dream. Happy (early) Birthday to me!
One funny thing about this car.... When I went to the bank to get the cashiers check, the cute teller noticed the check was to be made out to a Dodge dealer. She asked me what kind of Dodge I was getting. I told her a new Challenger Scat Pack. She got all excited and told me it was her favorite car. Then she asked what color and when she heard it was purple, that sent her over the edge. I offhandedly commented that I would take her for a ride when I got it. I was half joking. She literally almost gave me her number and said the bank would let her leave for a ride. I had to politely extricate myself from that situation. The girl at the toll booth gave me a compliment on it too. I can see this car is going to be trouble....
I don't know, I think you guys are falling for an elaborate ruse here... One of two things is true.. If in fact he presented a car dealer with a large Cashier's check to purchase said new vehicle, then he is deeply in crisis.. and needs an immediate intervention. Or he is working you guys to the max for a unprecedented April Fools joke. I am going to need to see some sales documentation before I buy into this.. Pictures standing in front of the car won't do, that's just too easy to fake. Skeptical in Minnesota
I don't know if your saying that jokingly or not, but that is some sound advice. I cant believe how out of shape one of these cars get in the blink of an eye. The Enterprise rental place here had two 392 Challengers. One of them got totaled within 20 miles. That twenty miles. LOL. The other one they have is sitting in front of my house as I type this. We rented it for the tri down. Even for a guy like me who's gone to Ford Racing School and has some experience doing massive holeshots , its a handful. I can only imagine your average dumbass SUV driver getting behind the wheel of one of these and turning off the TC. Funny, when he picked up the rental, the thing felt sluggy. What the hell?? As Im driving it back to the house, I see a little green leaf icon on the cluster. Whats that? I go to driver options and its in Eco mode!!! Yeah....I changed it to "sport mode". Totally different car. Oh, and yes, Jen got pulled over in MD in the black rental Challenger for doing 86 in a 55 . $300 goes to the Maryland coffers
CONGRATS Two thumbs! Did you get a parts book so u can start memorizing all the part numbers. Do u have to rent another garage now u better not be putting a Buick out side for a Mopar
