Needs bumper fillers/paint etc, still seems cheap! Interior looks great! https://losangeles.craigslist.org/s...3-buick-riviera/7029387888.html?lang=fr&cc=ca This is a classic Riviera that is a clean and runs good. V8 5.0 motor. Transmission shifts smooth. Has clean California title. No rust. Straight body. Motor runs good but just started leaking from the fuel pump. $1800
You had me at that coffin-like interior. Actually, I've never liked these things, the styling is a bit too obtuse for me. But it's a good deal at $1800, you can't rent a car for a month for that kind of money.
I'm gonna say it. I like it a lot. And the price is very good given how it looks. Makes me wonder if it has a million miles or some sort of issue.
There are still way to many pristine examples available at fair prices to even consider one that needs paint. One of the best looking cars of its time
Yeah, not one of GM's better ideas, but then again, the 80s was a sort of a lost decade for them; they'd lost their mojo and were slapping some pretty crappy designs and cars together. What they built in the 90s and to date is so much better. I would imagine a car like this to be pretty niche-market, the prospective buyer either had some good memories of one, loved the styling, or just had a great time in their dad's old one, but I can't imagine much action going on in the back seat of one of those, it was viewed as pretty lame in it's day too. I'm not even sure this car would look interesting in another 25 or so years, the styling has not aged well at all, this thing screams "malaise".
I feel sick I can't eat another cake, cookie, strudel or chocolate. Christmas is tough, but somebody's got to do it.
have seen three (3) in the U Pull Its in the last six months, all were undamaged and had clean southwestern bodies. Did not buy anything for inventory.
Not sure about pretty lame in its day, they were popular and had strong sales. They were yet favored of the 3, Eldo, Riv and Toro by the mags. Motor Trend car of the year in 79. I would want a 79 with the 350, but even the later ones albeit sluggish are well balanced and fine road cars and more than capable.
I had an 85 with the Olds 307. It was a great highway car and very comfortable to drive. The performance was lackluster but consistent with other offerings of that time. Low mileage examples come up for sale often and they never seem to bring much money.
I stupidly didn't buy this 1979 beauty. A good friend and I went to look at it back years ago (he was the one buying) and the car had never been in the rain or sat outside of the garage overnight, had 19K miles. It was a checklist car down to leather and moonroof. He bought it and sold it a few years later and I have more than once kicked myself for not buying it from him. One of the most beautiful examples I have seen in both condition and color combo.
