ONE: Can anyone out there please give feedback on CHRIS SUTTON engine builder??? WHO is he? Where is he? Quality or not..ya know, stuff like that.

TWO: TIRE SIZES... Being a "purist" I never considered 15 x 8" wheels from Wheel Vintiques... However, the car I am restifying, well, sorta, more like "tinkering", has 15x8 on all 4 corners with way-small 235-60-15 Coopers all the way around. I feel the need to install at least 275 maybe 295 15 on the back. I know there are prolly many of you guys whom have done this, I just want feedback on clearances and possible fender trim scrubbing with the 295? Yes? No?

As always Guys, I look forward to, and APPRECIATE your comments!

Thank You Jim, I have installed 275 on 7" rims over the years, however, the rims on this car are 8" Vintiques and deep offset... THAT is the reason for my questioning fitment.. .. ..

    THANK YOU for your reply!

If someone measures their side to side clearance with 275s and offset on a 7 inch rim, you could use the offset difference between the 8" and 7" to closely project the fit.

Pretty sure my little brother has 15x8s and 275/60s on wheel vintiques on his Skylark now instead of the Cragar style. I'll ask him to make sure. I know what's on there fits great with no issues.

    When I got my 15x8 wheels.they measured a little narrow I thought.
    I have 15x8 w a 275/60/15 on rear.
    15x6 w a 215/75/15 on front.
    235 are puny.

Alright he got back to me. The top Cragar style are actually Wheel Vintiques version of them. 15x7 with 235/60s and 15x8 with 275/60s, he said 4" backspace. The bottom is with his new stock style 15x7 with 245/60 and 15x8 with 295/50. Both pics are with the new rear MOOG GS springs (can't remember the part number but I did a thread on it a couple years ago) I bought for him. Said the 275s would rub the inside of the 1/4 a little at the very top with a load in the car and over big bumps.

“Rub” in lieu of the word “run” in the next to last line?
