I'm wondering if Frank is still manufacturing the clear lid overflow tanks? I bought one many years ago, the quality was great and I need another for a new project.

Thanks for any leads on being able to contact him.

I got one from him earlier this summer I think he said I got the last one but I'm not sure.

I just bought a clear lid from Frank a couple weeks ago and believe he may still have a couple left.

At this point, your best bet would probably be to grab a new repro from CARS and just replace the black lid with Frank's clear one.

Not very cost effective but what else can you do?

You can't really do that. The clear ones were clear top & bottom, so the clear lids would certainly not match a white bottom.

I’m under the impression that there aren’t many choices at this point for those of us needing a clear top. All things considered that looks pretty good. Mark

I've sent Frank an email and am really hoping I can get a complete setup or even two from him. Otherwise I'll post in the parts wanted section. I've installed two of his in early 70 Stage 1 cars I have and they've been great. Really don't want to use anything else (unless there are no options). There is a nice cream look to the complete unit that I prefer and is correct to my date codes than the black and white later introduction units.
Thank you all for your help!

I feel like the clear tank was less white?

I don't know but the lid I got from Frank last year and the OEM tank I got from a board member seemed to match up pretty well.

Disregard the different stages of overflow hoses. Haha

Here is a piece of an answer I just gave someone regarding early vs late parts for a 70 car.

Early parts, Plastic Rad cover, Clear top Overflow, Pointy Gauge lenses with Tall numbered gauges, Tri-shield courtesy light lenses (for the deluxe interior cars.)

Late parts, Metal Rad cover, Black top Overflow, Flat Gauge lenses with short numbered gauges, Concentric circle courtesy light lenses (for the deluxe interior cars.)

Cars built up to "11D" had ALL the early parts. Cars from "11D" to "01A" have a mix of early and late parts, and by approximately "01B" ALL the parts were of the new style.

    Hope this helps.

My 12D build has the clear tank, plastic radiator cover and flat lenses.

    No tri-shield courtesy lense, either.

My 01B flint GS has plastic rad cover, flat gauges and black overflow top. Must of been right at the beginning of the new stuff since I got a plastic cover.

I believe that's called a transition car. Kinda like mine.

Long armrest bases vs short were in there somewhere too I believe. I seem to have both styles in 70 cars. I've been fortunate that most of my cars were unmolested when I purchased them...

Short armrest only came in the standard interior 70 cars

Long armrests came with the Deluxe Interiors, and they had 2 courtesy light lenses and carpets on the kick panels

Short armrests came with the Standard Interiors, and they came with a dome light, and no carpet on the kicks.

Now this was for the 1970 cars, 71-72's were different.

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

My 01C car has the plastic rad cover. Built in Flint. No other early items.
