I'm looking for correct coil springs for my '66 GS.....Moog doesn't have a listing, Eaton springs only have an incorrect GTO spring, and Esco's phones are temporarily down....What other sources are there?

Here are specs from a '66 Assembly Manual:
    PN 392193 and 393592:
    Wire Dia: 0.640
    Free Height: 16.21"
    Load Height: 11.4"
    Load: 1825 lbs
    Rate 380 lb/inch

    What's out there???

Have you tried going into a real parts store and asking for their spring book. I have bought springs just by finding the right dimensions and not concerning myself with the application. You have done the hard part already getting all the info for the springs needed.

Assuming those specs are for the fronts, and they use the same diameter coil as a Chevelle of 3.63", here are some close matches from my Moog book.

    #6033
    Diameter: 3.670"
    Wire: .656"
    Install: 11.00"
    Load: 2005
    Rate: 370
    Free: 16.44"

    #6322
    Diameter: 3.850"
    Wire: .690"
    Install: 11.50"
    Load: 1870
    Rate: 404
    Free: 16.19"

Marco, the spring info was in the '66 Assembly manual!

Weird... two places (Eaton and Esco) tell me the GTO spring (Moog #5244) is correct for my car. I tried them on my blue '66, and never liked them. Felt like they couldn't handle the weight. The Buick specified spring is much different. I measured my old ones and they match the Buick info... 0.655" wire diameter and 16.25" free length.
The Moog #6033 are the closest match I could find....they are for the REAR of a 59-64 Chev :Dou: I'm going with those!...

    Eaton Spring....$169
    Esco...............$68
    Rock Auto (Moog)...$68

Esco was VERY helpful....I'd recommend them!
Rock Auto is also a great source for Moog front-end parts. :TU:

    Thanks Walt.

What section is it in so I can look for my exact specs?

I remember flipping through the book once, and didn't see anything. :Dou:

The '66 version has a section '3 Front Suspension'....that's were I found the info!

I finally ordered the springs today from ESPO! I spoke with Laura....she was sharp....had all the info at her fingertips :Comp:

I went with the 6033 for the front.... It's a very close match to the Buick spec.... and match the wire diameter and height of the springs I removed from the car. However, ESPO recommended the 5244 for my GS....No thanks, I'll go by the Buick specs!....
For the rear, they recommended the 6197, which is also listed by Moog as the HD spring for the Chevelle. It's a bit stiffer than both the GS spring listed by Buick, and Moog's stock Skylark spring (5231). We'll see....

Price was $70 for a pair of the fronts, and $55 for the rears. Shipping was only $16.....they're going out tomorrowand will be on my doorstep in no time! Wooohoooo!... Christmas in July!

    Look what I found!

If you have your original springs out of the car, you might be able to see the original ID stamping....I found these stampings this weekend when I did some sandblasting!
This is stamped on the front springs....
    '654B380'
    '654' is the wire diameter......0.654"
    'B' might be for Buick???
    '380' is the rate......380 lbs/inch
