Wondering what the correct colors are for 1972 LeSabre engine? 350 4bbl. Intake color? Valve cover color?

Buick painted the basic engines one color after assembly. Around 75 the factory changed from Buick red to blue. For 76 Buick changed to another blue, know as GM corporate blue.

So the whole engine would be red? Currently the intake is orangey red and the valve covers are blue.

Define "whole engine." Brackets, carb, fittings, fan?

Wow that's a LOT of red! Thanks for the info. I could only find that red was used up to 1971. Couldn't find if it continued after that. I'm buying refurbished cylinder heads so now is the time to make everything correct.

Your Orange sounds like faded red
