Current project is test fitting and securing the vfn bolt on hood. I will need some pins to hold down the front and don't really like the generic "Mr Gasket" chrome disk and big ring look thats so common.

I came across these and though they are a little "euro" looking I like the clean flat look. I Like the lock and the fact that they are different.

The car will be silver with black gsx stripes and a stage 2 scoop so I think these pins in black can fit in and look nice.

    What do you Think?

I would re-evaluate these, this time with the term "underhood thermal event" in mind.

o.k. then how about without the lock:Do No:

even with the lock it can't much slower than getting a lift off hood loaded with quick fastners

These look nice and clean also:idea2:

And when they start to melt...?

Sorry, I watched a bad situation get worse because of a product like this; the fire couldn't be doused from the grill or underneath, the hood could not be removed, the car was lost.

I like the quick-latch better if a gloved finger can make them release.

I looked at those before for my hood. The one concern I had was right where the core support lines up with the hood, it's curved. I didn't know if you could get a flush mount with those. Be curious to see them installed if you go that route.

    understood

that is true........but you could turn them 90 deg and I think they will lay flat and still look good

I will have to think about it

I've used the type of hood pins that require a special key to open them.

Not this exact set, but pretty close to it:

Looks a bit ricer, but sits more flush than the traditional hood pins with steel cable from the pin.

I used them on a Suzuki Samurai, where I had no room for the original hood latch due to an engine swap. In the few years that I had it, I never had a problem with them.
