Unless it is an all out race application, I use custom bent steel lines.

I am not a fan of the cheap stainless covered rubber line. I have worked on cars where the rubber hose had started to break down and disintegrate filling the filter with black powder and rubber particles.

I have used the braided stainless cover chemical line. That stuff will last for the long haul but its flexibility is marginal and you have to use fittings on the ends.

I LOVE THOSE! I saw that type today while searching for "pieces" to make my 3/8" hard-line to -8 braided stainless steel adapters

Done; both FUEL & TRANSMISSION LINE ADAPTERS ... 3/8" hard-line to -8 braided stainless steel hose.:TU:

(Created on a very pathetic, imbarrasingly-limited, microscopic, very minutely-tiny budget).:beers2:

Are you planning on driving on the street? If you are not just loop the trans lines. What reg are you going to run that depends if you run a return i dont keep up that well but the more info we have the better we could tell you where to save.

Yes, Sir. I am gonna use the car as a weekend/vacation/drive to North Carolina car. I am using no fuel regulator, just the stock fuel system converted to 1/2" (-8) lines instead of the 3/8" factory size.:TU:

when you cut the braided line:

Wrap "masking" tape over the part you are going to cut, real tight with about 4 layers. Use an air or electric grinder with a thin cut off wheel. Work around the thing, "climb cut" so you push the wheel cutting into the hose. clockwise if everything is facing away from you as you hold it. Then, when you install it into those pretty fittings remove the tape, lube it all up with transmission fluid, then twist it in .. Righty tighty lefty dont wory about it... :bglasses:

cut right through the middle of the tape, or in the center of it... Good luck

And clean out the ID of every section before you assemble it, then flush the whole thing once more after it's put together before you go "live" with the fuel system.

Yup, then clean it again. My float stuck open on the road one night not long after we got it Running. I shut down a very busy intersection while my car sounded like one of those "monster trucks" as it was flooding out. lol, Alpine and 4 mile at 5pm on a tuesday. The front end was jumpin up and down while the 3 1/2" exhaust pipes were rippin. I think they all thought I was going to make a top fuel pass or something? I had the red light even! lol
